Job summary

Interstate Power Systems is seeking a Senior Diesel Technician for the Omaha, NE shop to perform advanced diagnostics and complex repairs on heavy-duty diesel engines. The role emphasizes expertise in diagnostics, engine repair, and powertrain work, including Allison transmissions.

Qualified candidates will have 5+ years in senior-level diesel technician roles, strong OEM diagnostic skills, and a track record solving difficult engine issues.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of senior-level diesel technician experience.
  • OEM certifications and formal diesel training are preferred.
  • Deep hands-on experience with diesel engines and Allison transmissions.

Responsibilities

  • Advanced diagnostics and complex repairs on heavy-duty diesel engines and systems.
  • High-level engine and powertrain work involving all makes of diesel engines and Allison transmissions.
  • Troubleshooting aftertreatment, electrical, fuel, cooling, and driveline systems.
  • In-frame repairs, major component replacements, and root-cause failure analysis.
  • Interpreting OEM diagnostics, schematics, wiring diagrams, and service literature.
  • Serving as a technical resource for the shop when difficult issues arise.
  • Delivering clean, accurate documentation and professional workmanship every time.

Job Title: Senior Diesel Technician (First Shift)

Location: Omaha Nebraska

Shift: First Shift (7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday)

Interstate Power Systems is seeking a Senior Diesel Technician-a proven expert in diagnostics and engine repair-to join our Omaha, NE team. This opportunity is designed for top-tier technicians who consistently handle the most complex jobs in the shop and take pride in being the go-to expert when others are stuck.
