Job summary

Schneider National, Inc. in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Senior Diesel Technician to perform repair decisions prioritizing safety on company tractors.

You will diagnose, estimate and complete repairs, perform preventive maintenance and inspections, and communicate status updates to internal customers. The role requires a technical degree in diesel technology and at least two years of experience, with own tools within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Must have a technical degree in diesel technology or related field.
• At least two years of diesel technician experience.
• Knowledge of diagnostic software, Detroit engines, and aftertreatment repairs.
• Experience with computer systems and diagnostic software.
• Ability to provide recommendations on maintenance and repair decisions.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Able to provide own tools within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, annual vehicle inspections, component replacements and other repairs on tractors.
• Complete inspections, diagnosis and work estimations.
• Communicate status updates with internal customers.
