Ryder in Peoria, IL is hiring a Senior Level Diesel Technician to service heavy‑duty trucks on a daytime schedule. You will work with state‑of‑the‑art diagnostics and tools and benefit from weekly pay, strong benefits, and a clear path for career advancement.

This role emphasizes preventive maintenance, complex mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, and mentorship of newer Tech I/II staff. Starting pay is $32 per hour with sign‑on and quarterly bonuses, plus a 401(k) match and tuition

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Experience with mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
• 3+ years relevant work experience preferred.
• CDL Class A preferred; CDL within 6 months may be required.
• Must pass background and DOT-related checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard and preventive vehicle maintenance.
• Diagnose complex mechanical/electrical problems using diagnostic computer.
• Complete detailed inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Mentor junior Tech 1/Tech 2 levels and support operations.
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of the issue.
