Job summary

Interstate Power Systems is seeking experienced Diesel Technicians to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and related systems across a wide range of equipment. You'll troubleshoot electrical, fuel, cooling, drivetrain, hydraulic, and aftertreatment systems, perform preventative maintenance, and use diagnostic tools to identify root causes.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a diesel technician or related role.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair diesel-powered equipment.
  • Experience with electronic diagnostics and repair software preferred.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and related systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, fuel, cooling, drivetrain, hydraulic, and aftertreatment systems.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and major component repairs.
  • Use diagnostic software, technical manuals, and computerized troubleshooting tools.
  • Identify root causes of equipment failures and recommend repair solutions.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and repair records.
  • Work safely and efficiently while delivering high-quality workmanship.

  • 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
  • 3rd Shift: Sunday-Thursday, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

What You'll Do
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and related systems

What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience as a diesel technician, diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, fleet mechanic, truck technician, or related role
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to diagnose and repair diesel-powered equipment
  • Experience with electronic diagnostics and repair software is preferred
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and customer service
  • Valid driver's license required
Preferred Qualifications
  • OEM certifications (Detroit Diesel, Cummins, Allison, Volvo, MTU, or similar)
  • Technical school or diesel technology training
  • CDL or willingness to obtain one
  • Advanced diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting experience
