Job summary

Transport Refrigeration Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Reefer Technician to service, diagnose, and repair refrigerated transport equipment and fleet vehicles in Fort Wayne, IN. The day shift offers a stable career path with growth potential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Obtain a toolbox and required tools.
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant systems.

Responsibilities

• Repair minor and major issues of refrigeration units and diagnose issues using OEM software and read codes.
• Read wiring diagrams and schematics for refrigerant units.
• Use multi-meter to perform electrical diagnostics.
• Program microprocessors and properly operate reclaiming equipment for refrigerant recovery.
• Perform PMs and DOT inspections on trucks and trailers.
• Roadside service, tire repairs, and equipment cleaning.

What You’ll Do

• Repair minor and major issues of refrigeration units and the ability to diagnose problems with the units which included but not limited to:
  • Use of OEM software to diagnose issues, read codes, clear codes, download
  • Ability to read refrigerant unit wiring diagrams and wiring schematics
  • Ability to use multi-meter to perform electrical diagnostics
  • Ability to program microprocessor
  • Proper use of reclaiming machine to recover and recycle refrigerant
  • Proficient in soldering all types of joints and tubes
• Servicing truck systems — cooling, fuel, drive train, brakes, suspension
• Performing PMs and DOT inspections on trucks and trailers
• Repairing ABS systems, APU units, and trailer structures
• Roadside service, tire repairs, and equipment cleaning
• Operates company and customer vehicles, forklifts, hoists and tools
• Maintaining accurate repair times and a clean workspace
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
