Job summary

Waste Management, Inc. (WM) seeks a Senior Diesel Mechanic to service, diagnose and repair diesel trucks and related equipment. You will work in a repair shop at the Linden site, with a schedule Monday–Friday plus occasional Saturdays and early shift hours.

You’ll use modern tools and follow safety standards to keep our fleet reliable for communities we serve. The role requires 4 years of relevant experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Qualifications

• 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Be over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and parts.
• Work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSH standards.
