Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III) to perform maintenance and repairs on complex rental equipment in a safe, professional manner.

You may travel to customer sites and assist with equipment delivery while supporting a service-driven culture. The role emphasizes teamwork, strong mechanical aptitude, and superior customer service, with opportunities for progression within the Service Department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 3–5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Superior customer service and teamwork.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
