Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Annapolis Junction, Maryland.

  • Hourly Pay: $33.00 - $35.00 per hour
  • Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700
  • Quarterly Bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
  • Hours: First shift 5:00 am – 1:30 pm

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to perform all T3 tasks
  • Advanced vehicle maintenance skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Availability for shift work, weekends, and on-call
  • Prefer ASE certifications in PM, brakes, A/C, electrical, electronics, or ASE master mechanic
  • Operate shop computers and diagnostic equipment proficiently
  • Minimum tool requirements
  • Road test vehicles as needed
  • Ability to coach and mentor others
  • This position requires driving Ryder vehicles. To become a Ryder employee, you must:
  • Obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
  • Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background check, and motor vehicle check

Responsibilities
  • Complete OEM diagnostic courses and training within specified timeframes
  • Perform vehicle maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics with minimal support
  • Access and utilize maintenance documents and diagnostic tools
  • Perform remote triage for roadside assistance
  • Interact with customers and drivers to identify issues
  • Mentor and coach other technicians
  • Utilize shop management systems and documentation
  • Follow all safety and compliance guidelines
  • Support additional shop duties as needed
