Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III) to maintain and repair a wide range of complex rental equipment. You will operate safely, document work orders, and occasionally travel to customer sites to perform repairs and maintenance.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of hands-on repair experience, own their own tools, and possess a valid driver's license. This role offers growth toward senior positions and leadership within the service department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3–5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment.
• Own tools and strong mechanical aptitude required.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work orders daily.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
