Job summary

United Rentals, the world's largest equipment rental provider, is seeking a field technician to maintain and repair complex machinery across rental and customer equipment. You will travel to customer sites, keep a clean service vehicle, and assist in mentoring junior technicians.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy in work orders, and strong customer service. You must own the required tools and demonstrate advanced mechanical aptitude. This is a hands-on position with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean.
• Assist in the training of lower level technicians.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work orders daily.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
