Job summary

United Rentals is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment with minimal supervision. You will contribute to a safe, professional service environment and have opportunities to advance within the Service Department.

The role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and accurate documentation, with responsibilities including on-site repairs, travel when required, and training of junior technicians.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
• Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a timely manner.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
