Senior Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs and maintenance of fleet vehicles safely, in compliance with all regulations and policies.
• Conduct services and repairs per maintenance schedules and driver reports.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, performing necessary repairs or replacements.
• Road test vehicles to diagnose problems or verify repairs.
• Inspect, lubricate, and service vehicles and equipment.
• Complete adjustments, repairs, and component replacements.
• Check and change fluids and filters.
• Inspect and repair vehicle support systems like electrical, air, and brake systems.
• Perform roadside repairs and adjustments.
• Ensure safety devices are functional.
• Assist in training less experienced technicians.
• Perform administrative duties related to parts, warranties, etc.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Maintain accurate records on work performed and parts used.
• Travel as needed for training or business purposes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to safely operate service vehicles and perform test drives.
• Effective communication skills.
• Necessary tools for the job.
• Familiarity with computer use.
• Additional skills as required for specific tasks or locations.

Physical and Working Conditions:

• Frequent lifting/carrying of up to 200 lbs., occasionally up to 75 lbs.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Work in dusty, odorous, or airborne environments.
• Sitting, standing, and walking in different environments.
• Possible exposure to traffic, waste, and other hazards.
• Work overtime, weekends, and nights as needed.
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S., with a valid driver's license if applicable.
• Must pass pre-employment testing and be able to read and speak English.
