Job summary

Interlaken, Inc. is seeking a motivated Maintenance Mechanic with construction experience in the Portland metro area. The role involves performing repairs and preventative maintenance on excavators, loaders, and fleet vehicles, both at the job site and in the shop.

You will diagnose diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems, and maintain accurate time/material reports. A valid license and a willingness to work overtime are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in maintenance with heavy equipment or construction gear.
• High school diploma or GED; post-secondary diesel technology degrees preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and insurable DMV record.
• Ability to sit, stoop, kneel, push, lift up to 60 lbs; willing to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic service repairs and preventative maintenance on excavators, loaders, attachments, and fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose, repair and troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, electrical systems, fuel & brake lines.
• Maintain shop inventory and keep a clean, orderly work area.
• Complete accurate reports of time and materials; basic computer skills a plus.
