Job summary

United Rentals in Sparks, NV is seeking a Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech IV - CES) to perform maintenance and repairs on customer-owned equipment with high autonomy. You will support the Service Department, travel to job sites as needed, and help train junior technicians while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines.
• Advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on equipment and tools with limited supervision.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) daily.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties as needed.
