Job summary

Supply Chain Management Inc.1.com (SCMI1) seeks an Engineering Technician VI (Mechanical focus - Diesel Engine Inspector) to support SERMC on U.S. Navy ships in port and underway.

The candidate will troubleshoot and oversee repairs of shipboard diesel engines and related mechanical/electrical systems, interpreting drawings and reporting findings. Requires 3+ years of journeyman experience, DEI certification valid by 2025, US citizenship, and the ability to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ journeyman level experience in Navy shipboard diesel engines.
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing or testing shipboard mechanical/electrical systems.
• Ability to lead a team and produce official reports.
• Experience with material condition assessments (TSRA/ICMP/INSURV or similar).
• Proficiency with Navy maintenance databases and drawing repositories.
• Current Diesel Engine Inspector (DEI) certification valid as of 2025.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to clear background checks.
