Helion in Everett, WA is seeking a senior Materials Scientist to develop dielectric materials for high-voltage components in a fusion reactor. You will lead multi-disciplinary projects, plan milestones, and drive R&D with urgency, while evaluating novel materials under radiation exposure.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in materials science, electrical engineering, physics, nuclear engineering, or related disciplines.
• 8+ years of industry experience executing R&D and development projects for a commercial product.
• Ability to plan and lead R&D efforts guided by milestones.
• Bias for action with urgency and rapid prototyping mindset.

Responsabilités

• Lead high-impact, multidisciplinary projects to develop new high-voltage dielectric materials.
• Lead testing campaigns to quantify electrical properties under demanding conditions.
• Review published research and distill findings for non-nuclear engineers.
• Collaborate across teams, vendors, and labs to extend capabilities.
• Represent Helion at technical meetings and conferences.
