Job summary

DURHAM Manufacturing in Middletown, CT seeks a Die Maintenance Supervisor to lead a maintenance team for stamping dies. You will develop preventive plans, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with production to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

The role requires hands-on machining, tooling, and a strong background in metal stamping dies such as Progressive, Cut-off, Piercing, Blanking and Forming dies. Excellent leadership and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units.
• Five years die maintenance experience; machinist proficiency.
• Mechanically inclined with working knowledge of punch presses.
• Experience in Metal Stamping; familiar with Progressive, Cut-off, Piercing.
• Operate all tool-room equipment and machinery; read blueprints.
• Ability to read and troubleshoot in-press; strong leadership & communication.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team responsible for die maintenance and repair.
• Approves and monitors employee time and attendance.
• Consults with human resources on personnel issues; disciplinary actions if required.
• Completes new hire and annual performance evaluations for assigned personnel.
• Develop preventive maintenance plans for dies to ensure optimal performance.
• Schedule maintenance activities to minimize downtime and meet targets.
• Identify root causes; implement corrective actions for die issues.
• Perform machining and fabricating on stamping dies for repair or improvement.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools.
