Job summary

Findlay Volkswagen Henderson is seeking a skilled-level Flat Rate Technician capable of diagnosing and repairing vehicles in line with dealer and factory standards. The role emphasizes delivering a trusted experience and maintaining safety and reliability for customers’ cars.

Qualifications

• Valid Nevada driver’s license.
• Clear background check.
• Ability to pass pre-employment Federal drug screen.
• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• ASCE Certification preferred.
• Volkswagen Technician designation preferred.
• Must maintain an inventory of normal technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as “special tools”.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose cause of malfunction(s) and perform repair(s).
• Test drive vehicles in order to test components and systems.
• Conduct multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure safety and reliability of customer vehicles.
• Proficient use of diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Perform work as requested on service repair orders expeditiously and with accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Communicate directly with Service Advisors to ensure customers are properly informed of additional service recommendations.
• Communicate directly with Parts Advisors to effectively manage production.
• Provide accurate and efficient time estimates necessary to complete repairs to customer’s vehicles.
• Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Saves and tags parts off the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
• Participates in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.
• Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership‑owned tools and manuals. Return them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Ensures that customers’ cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisors immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
• Provides an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.
• Stays current on new vehicle technologies and diagnostic methods.
