Job summary

Bowhead Family of Companies seeks a Senior DevSecOps & Platform Engineer to support NSWCDD RDT&E. The role spans DevSecOps architecture, platform engineering, AI/ML integration, cybersecurity compliance, and full-stack capabilities across Linux/Windows, VMware, and cloud-native stacks.

The engineer will design, deploy, and secure enterprise applications, automate infrastructure, and collaborate with government stakeholders, developers, and cyber teams to ensure mission success.

Qualifications

• Seven to ten (7-10) years of experience in DevSecOps engineering, platform engineering, or closely related technical disciplines.
• Experience integrating cybersecurity requirements and secure development practices throughout the software lifecycle.
• Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity compliance tools and RMF processes.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience developing and deploying enterprise-scale solutions in DoD or federal IT environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable DevSecOps platforms for enterprise development and deployment.
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
• Support container environments with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Administer Linux and Windows operating systems and VMware vSphere.
• Integrate Artifactory, Jira, and Confluence for toolchains and workflows.
• Promote security automation and continuous compliance across dev and deployment.
• Collaborate with government customers and multidisciplinary teams to address requirements.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and SOPs.
