Steampunk seeks a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to advance our DevSecOps practice, delivering features for cloud and application development. The role targets candidates with 5–7 years in cloud platforms and DevSecOps like build/release management, CI/CD, and automation.

The position emphasizes automating processes, securing systems, and mentoring the team; work involves collaboration across engineers and stakeholders in a growing security-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance
• BS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non-IT field and 2 years related IT experience
• At least 1 relevant technical certification
• 5+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• 5+ years with GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket
• 5+ years of programming or scripting experience
• 5+ years of DevSecOps experience in Agile environments
• 3+ years with Docker containers and Kubernetes
• 5+ years of IaC and orchestration
• 5+ years building CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Pipelines)
• 5+ years integrating deployments with DevSecOps tooling
• Experience incorporating test automation into CI/CD pipelines

Responsibilities

• Establish development tools and infrastructure for automation
• Understand stakeholder needs and communicate to developers
• Automate and improve development, testing, deployment, and release processes
• Test and review code and analyze results
• Ensure systems are secure against cybersecurity threats
• Identify technical problems, perform root cause analysis, and develop fixes
• Collaborate with developers to ensure processes are followed
• Support enterprise cloud apps or infra via IaC and automated configurations
• Document as-is state, perform gap analyses, and produce actionable options
• Leverage virtualization and containerization to optimize systems
• Act as individual contributor and mentor teammates
• Present status updates and cross-train DevOps team members
