Job summary

Peraton is seeking a senior DevSecOps engineer to advance Navy modernization, enabling microservices on container platforms through automation. This hybrid role is 75% remote and 25% onsite at a government facility in the San Diego area.

You’ll collaborate with software and cyber engineers to build secure pipelines, automate environments, and adapt to varying program needs while delivering rapid, reliable software for fleet operations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience with BS/BA; 6 years with MS/MA or 3 years with PhD
• Secret clearance or be able to obtain one
• U.S. citizenship
• Must have strong Kubernetes work experience
• Must live in the San Diego metro area
• CompTIA Security+ Certification or the ability to obtain it within 45 days of hire
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience with: Containerization (e.g., Docker, Podman, Buildah), Container Orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm), CI/CD automation tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, AWS Code Build), Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation), Linux systems (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu), Automation and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell)

Peraton is seeking an enthusiastic and talented senior DevSecOps engineer to build on ongoing modernization efforts for the US Navy with enabling microservices to be rapidly built, tested, fielded, and integrated to container orchestration platforms through heavy use of automation tools and processes. This hybrid support role (75% remote, 25% onsite at a government facility) in the San Diego area is for folks who like being close to the work-building pipelines, automating infrastructure, fixing what slows teams down, and adapting when a program needs something different.

U.S. Navy warfighters need your help to rapidly deliver cutting edge software solutions to the fleet for planning and executing missions for carrier strike groups conducting operations around the world. Mission planners need to collaborate in order plan for anti-surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, ballistic missile defense, autonomous drone swarm information gain, and a wide range of other mission areas.
