Senior Devops Engineer with Database experience

Base pay range

$135,000.00/yr - $145,000.00/yr

Position Overview

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with experience in Postgres or other SQL databases (approximately 20% of the role). This is a full-time, permanent position with our client, offering the flexibility to work 100% remotely anywhere in the USA. The DevOps Engineer- Postgres DBA will be responsible for managing cloud environments, maintaining and optimizing components, analyzing issues, automating processes, and planning cloud solutions. The candidate should be proficient in working within established processes and leveraging the latest tools, automation, and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud solutions
• Automate cloud-related tasks and processes
• Maintain cloud environments in Azure and AWS
• Automate service deployment and maintenance tasks
• Create database structures, tables, views, stored procedures, and indexes for efficient data management
• Perform data loading, updates, and deletions while ensuring data integrity
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies
• Define user access controls, manage permissions, and implement security measures
• Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and resolve errors
• Assess storage needs and scale infrastructure accordingly
• Apply updates and patches to maintain security and compatibility

Required Skills

• At least 8 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure roles
• Minimum 4 years of experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and DevOps tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform
• Proficiency in scripting for automation and troubleshooting
• Experience with source code management tools
• Knowledge of relational databases (MSSQL, MySQL, Postgres), including SQL command writing and performance tuning
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
• Managed Services experience (ITSM & ITIL) is a plus
• Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Google, Oracle) are highly desirable
