Job summary

Navstar Inc. in Chantilly, VA seeks a senior DevOps professional with a TS/SCI clearance to lead a small team and drive improvements across product delivery, CI/CD pipelines, and security hardening.

You will manage deployments, patching, and infrastructure, while ensuring robust monitoring and compliance with DoD-styled lifecycle practices. The role requires deep experience with Kubernetes, Grafana dashboards, and configuration management, plus strong collaboration and on-call readiness.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Senior: typically requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and nine years of related experience.
• Experience with deployment technologies such as Kubernetes (K8s) for container orchestration.
• Experience with metrics monitoring and dashboards (Grafana).
• Understanding of user access practices and security controls within a system.
• Understanding of system administration in various OS environments.
• Strong knowledge of configuration management tools.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle best practices.
• Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Able to work on-call hours as required.

Responsibilities

• Find deficiencies in the product delivery lifecycle and architecture and implement industry best practices to improve them.
• Oversee and provide input on hiring a small DevOps team for operation and maintenance of our products.
• Inspect, patch, and upgrade existing products for reliable delivery to customer environments.
• Maintain development, testing, and production environments.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines to maximize efficiency.
• Implement industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management.
• Develop and maintain solutions for operational administration, backups, disaster recovery, and security/performance monitoring.
• Test system integrity and implemented designs, making improvements as needed.
• Manage code deployments and related processes.
• Work with CI/CD tools and source control (Git).
• Offer technical support and develop software for back-end systems.
• Stay current with industry trends and source new ways to improve the business.
