Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead release management and security-focused DevOps across on‑prem and cloud environments in El Segundo, CA. You will work with cross‑functional teams to deploy secure, scalable microservices and establish robust CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires 5+ years of DevOps experience, strong scripting, cloud infrastructure, and Kubernetes expertise. Security clearance or the ability to obtain one is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science or related technical field.
• 5+ years of DevOps software development and infrastructure design.
• Proficiency with Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting.
• Experience designing secure cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure).
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines with security scanning and container image scanning.
• Understanding of Zero Trust and secure software supply-chain principles.
• Experience with Kubernetes clusters in production.
• Experience with Helm, ArgoCD, and IaC (Terraform/OpenTofu, CloudFormation).
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or ELK Stack.

Responsibilities

• Lead release management and deployment of microservices in Kubernetes (AWS EKS, Azure AKS).
• Design and implement vulnerability management, security monitoring, and incident response automation.
• Work with developers to enforce secure coding practices and security testing.
• Deploy DevOps practices to automate software engineering across multiple projects.
• Establish solid, foundational processes across teams.
• Make design decisions that impact the entire software team and organization.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand evolving requirements and identify key technologies.
• Stand up agile teams and oversee DevOps pipelines in on‑prem and cloud environments.
