Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead release management and security-focused DevOps across on‑prem and cloud environments in El Segundo, CA. You will work with cross‑functional teams to deploy secure, scalable microservices and establish robust CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country’s most critical role – protecting our national security. KBR (formerly LinQuest) is the prime contractor on the MSEIT contract. You will join a systems engineering team defining the next generation of space communication systems supporting US Space Force (USSF) satellite communications. You will support Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) activities in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment. You will interface and collaborate with SE&I team members, contractors, government civilians and members of the USSF. You will lead and support several working groups responsible for leading technical discussion, resolve and identify risk, requirement gaps, developing briefings, writing, and tracking action items, and authoring meeting minutes. The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the US Space Force’s Space Systems Center (SSC). We support the Space Force’s acquisition of state-of-the‑art satellite communications systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation’s warfighters. Qualifications: Required: Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance is required for this position Experience and Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science, or related technical degree 5+ years of DevOps software development and infrastructure design. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Ability to design, implement, and manage secure cloud infrastructure solutions (AWS, Azure). Proficiency in implementing, maintaining, and managing CI/CD pipelines with security scanning tools and best practices, including container image scanning and dependency vulnerability management. Understanding of Zero Trust and secure software supply‑chain principles. Experience administering and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters in product environments. Experience deploying applications using Helm and ArgoCD. Experience with Infrastructure as Code solutions including Terraform, OpenTofu, CloudFormation, and similar. Experience implementing observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK Stack, Open Telemetry, or similar platforms. Excellent problem‑solving skills. Strong passion for conducting research, tackling complex problems, and continuously learning and adopting new technologies. Organization capability with ability to handle competing priorities. Strong interpersonal skills, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

INCOSE certification, such as CSEP or ESEP

Basic Compensation

Basic Compensation: $126,900 to $158,600 in El Segundo, CA The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
