Job summary

Paramount Streaming in New York, NY is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to design and manage scalable Kubernetes-based infrastructure for personalization services and to own CI/CD pipelines for production deployments.

You will partner with application, data, and ML engineers to ensure high-availability, secure APIs and real-time data pipelines, implement autoscaling, and drive observability with Prometheus, New Relic, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure.
• Strong Kubernetes/container orchestration experience.
• Hands-on CI/CD with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or ArgoCD.
• Deep knowledge of GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• IaC expertise with Terraform and Helm.
• Experience with Pub/Sub, Kafka, or similar messaging systems.
• Monitoring/logging with New Relic, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana.
• Scripting in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Proven production reliability ownership (SLIs/SLOs, incident response).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable and reliable Kubernetes-based infrastructure for personalization services.
• Build and own CI/CD pipelines that ship services (and ML models) to production safely — canary, rollback, progressive delivery.
• Stand up observability and monitoring with Prometheus, New Relic, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana; define SLIs/SLOs and drive error-budget discipline.
• Ensure high availability, security, and performance of production APIs and streaming datapipelines.
• Partner with application, data, and ML engineers to integrate workloads into the platform.
• Implement autoscaling strategies (HPA, KEDA, traffic-driven) for variable, bursty traffic patterns.
• Manage Pub/Sub and event-driven architectures for real-time messaging, engagement analytics, and inter-service communication.
• Optimize hot-path services using Redis, Memcached, and other caching strategies.
• Debug and resolve production issues related to latency, scaling, and reliability.
