Job summary

AEG is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to architect scalable, secure, multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and lead DevOps best practices. The role emphasizes automation, CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure as code, with mentorship of peers and collaboration with engineering stakeholders.

The successful candidate will design and implement reliable deployments, monitor system health, and contribute to KPI-driven improvements. Strong cross-functional communication is required.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in a related field.
• 6–8 years of related work experience.
• Experience designing and configuring Azure cloud services (AKS, Functions, Logic Apps, Key Vault, etc.).
• Experience automating deployments for microservices via CI/CD and IaC.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, Ember).
• Experience configuring infrastructure alerts and monitoring.
• Proficiency with Git version control.
• Experience in cloud DevOps with distributed teams.
• Understanding of DevOps fundamentals (security, scalability, reliability).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes setup and IaC tools.

Responsibilities

• Deploy microservices using IaC within CI/CD pipelines for scalable, reliable deployments.
• Mentor teammates on DevOps best practices and define measurable KPIs.
• Manage automated build processes with Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, and CodeBuild.
• Automate and test deployments using webhooks and status checks across cloud platforms and tooling.
• Configure real-time monitoring and alerting to maintain availability and security of systems.
• Lead ChatOps workflows and contribute to monthly system health reporting.
