Job summary

Shipzero in Hamburg is seeking a senior DevOps/Platform Engineer to own cloud resources, CI/CD, and security practices across engineering.

You will mentor teams, champion AI-powered workflows, and maintain observability with Datadog in a hybrid, remote-friendly setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of engineering with DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering or cloud infra experience.
• IaC tooling experience deploying infrastructure.
• Knowledge of information security (ISMS, controls, risk, compliance).
• Hands-on with modern AI tooling and AI-powered workflows.
• German language skills are nice-to-have, not required.
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems.
• Data engineering concepts and pipelines familiarity is a plus.

Your mission

• Conceptualize, manage and monitor cloud resources to improve overall performance and maintain efficiency
• Build, maintain, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable, efficient, and automated software delivery.
• Drive our information security practices within engineering to help keep our architecture scalab le, safe and compliant
• Explore and champion AI-assisted and agentic workflows across Product, Engineering, and other business functions, identifying opportunities for automation and implementing practical AI-powered workflows.
• Build and maintain observability via Datadog to support other teams
• Mentor other teams on DevOps best practices

Your skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science , Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of relevant professional engineering experience, including substantial hands‑on experience with DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering or cloud infrastructure.
• Experience deploying infrastructure via Infrastructure as Code ( IaC )
• Experience with information security topics and practices, including working with an Information Security Management System (ISMS), security controls, risk management, and compliance requirements.
• Hands‑on experience with modern AI tooling and building AI-assisted, agentic and automated workflows across Product and Engineering.
• German language skills are a nice‑to‑have, not required
• Experience working with microservices architectures and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with data engineering concepts and tooling, including data pipelines, data warehouses, and reliable data processing workflows, is a nice‑to‑have.
