Job summary

Paymentology is hiring a senior DevOps/SRE/Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud platforms. You will automate deployments with IaC, optimize AWS environments, and manage containerized workloads on Kubernetes.

Deep expertise in CI/CD, Kafka/MSK, and secure, reliable systems is essential for rapid, global payments workloads. You will collaborate with engineering, QA, and operations teams to drive reliability, performance, and automation, while adhering to Agile

Qualifications

• 7+ years in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering roles.
• Strong scripting and automation in Bash and Python.
• Hands-on with AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, VPC, EKS, MSK).
• Terraform and IaC tooling experience for infra deployment.
• Kubernetes clusters, workloads, and troubleshooting expertise.
• Experience with MSK and/or Apache Kafka clusters, brokers, topics, partitions, security.
• Ability to use AI-assisted tools for planning, troubleshooting, and automation.
• Solid CI/CD knowledge and Git version control practices.
• Linux/Unix proficiency; some Windows familiarity is a plus.
• Understanding of Agile development and team workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain IaC to automate deployment and management of infrastructure components.
• Maintain and optimize cloud infrastructure for high availability, scalability, and performance.
• Manage version-controlled configurations across dev, staging, and production.
• Troubleshoot issues across hardware, software, apps, and networking stacks.
• Perform server setup, configuration, and maintenance tasks.
• Implement and manage Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• Configure and manage MSK and/or Kafka clusters, including security and monitoring.
• Apply AI-assisted tools to streamline engineering tasks and create reusable workflows.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations to support the lifecycle.
• Ensure security best practices and regulatory compliance across pipelines and infra.
