Job summary

Level99 in Boston, MA is seeking a Sr. DevOps Engineer to build and operate the platform behind a multi-location entertainment business. You’ll run our cloud environment, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code, observability, and security, while managing venue systems with Ansible and AWX to stay up during play.

You’ll shape standards for how we build and operate as Level99 grows, contributing from the cloud to the floor and owning production stability and documentation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on production experience with a major cloud provider (GCP preferred; AWS/Azure considered).
• Experience running containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Production experience with Ansible for config management across distributed systems.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code, Terraform preferred.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar).
• Scripting in Python or Bash for automation and tooling.
• Comfort with the Linux command line and troubleshooting dependencies.
• Demonstrated ownership of production systems, including on-call and incident response.
• Strong written communication and documentation habits.

Responsibilities

• Ship reliably — build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and IaC for repeatable deployments.
• Build and run our cloud platform — design the infrastructure behind applications.
• Run the venue fleet — manage systems across locations with Ansible/AWX.
• Support on-floor environments — manage dependencies and drivers for venue hardware.
• Keep systems healthy — instrument monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Protect the environment — manage IAM, secrets, and access controls.
• Set the bar — create docs, runbooks, and standards for scale.
