Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to enable efficient, secure development across Cat Digital. You will support developers with CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments, and infrastructure automation, driving best practices and cross-team standards.

You will collaborate with multiple teams to optimize SDLC, manage cloud resources with IaC, IAM, and networking, and communicate outcomes to product owners and managers. This role is based in Chicago or Peoria, IL.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer.
Experience with AWS cloud services (IAM, S3, Lambda, SageMaker, API Gateway, RDS).
Deep understanding of CI/CD principles and best practices.
Strong experience creating, managing, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with multiple development teams to recommend DevOps best practices and troubleshoot SDLC challenges.
Create, optimize, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines with developers.
Create, optimize, and troubleshoot cloud deployments using infrastructure as code.
Help set standards and drive initiatives across Cat Digital teams.
Assist developers in using cloud services and troubleshoot IAM, networking, and configuration issues.
Communicate issues, recommendations, and solutions to developers, product owners, and software development managers.
