Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead design, development, testing, and deployment of a state-of-the-art digital platform hosted on AWS. You will guide the team to build and maintain a world-class platform hosting a wide range of digital applications.

Role requires experience with Java 17+, SpringBoot RESTful APIs, cloud deployments, and Agile methodologies. Based in Chicago, IL or Dallas, TX with relocation assistance not offered.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and developing backend RESTful APIs using microservices.
• Experience mentoring developers and performing code reviews.
• Leads development on cross-functional Agile project teams with strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to translate complex technical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend RESTful API services using a microservices architecture.
• Mentor developers and oversee code reviews to ensure quality and consistency.
• Act as team leader for development and support groups, providing technical guidance.
• Tackle complex application/technical problems and drive delivery of business features.
