Job summary

SPLICE is seeking a Senior Engineer - DevOps to support custom and off-the-shelf software through all phases. This role is hybrid, based in Chicago, Atlanta, Mason, OH, or Richmond VA, requiring office visits 1-3 times per month.

The ideal candidate has a BA/BS in IT or Computer Science and over 5 years in DevOps roles. Expertise in automation, containerization, and communication skills are critical. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a DevOps, application support, or configuration engineering role.
• 2+ years in a hybrid public/private cloud environment including AWS.
• Expert level experience with business and technical applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the change request process with other teams.
• Research and propose new technologies.
• Conduct technical design reviews and code reviews.
• Mentor team members and lead small to medium projects.

Skills

Familiarity with the software development lifecycle

Ability to work in both Windows and Linux environments

Understanding of containerization technologies

Experience with deployment automation tools

Fluency in scripting languages

Collaborative attitude

Strong communication skills

Education

BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
