Job summary

Lutron Electronics seeks an experienced DevOps Engineer in Austin to design, automate, and operate the developer platform powering build, test, and release processes for embedded Linux devices, cloud services, and customer-facing apps. You’ll enable lighting, shading, and smart home solutions globally.

You will lead CI/CD initiatives, mentor engineers, and drive secure-by-design practices while aligning platform roadmaps across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.
• Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0 for all completed degrees.
• 5+ years of industry DevOps and/or platform engineering experience.
• Experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with cloud platform automation.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.; no H-1B sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate enterprise CI/CD systems (CloudBees/Jenkins), incl. templates and library design.
• Create reusable pipeline steps and test orchestration for performance.
• Develop Terraform modules and manage backend/state strategy.
• Implement CasC for CI/CD and related services.
• Manage Cloud Platform Automations including functions and VM workflows.
• Handle Artifactory lifecycle and release governance.
• Create API-based automation across Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence.
• Manage SonarQube and quality gates; monitor security/compliance metrics.
• Apply secure-by-default patterns and partner with security teams.
• Create dashboards and alerts in New Relic for CI/CD visibility.
• Leverage AI tools to improve pipeline reliability and reduce toil.
