General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. (GDIT) in Rockville, MD seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS/Windows) to automate AWS infrastructure for NIAID’s Windows-based apps.

You’ll manage infrastructure as code with Terraform, deploy via GitHub Actions and CodeBuild, and help migrate on-prem workloads to AWS. You will own design-to-operations for the AWS platform, troubleshoot across IIS/.NET, and implement observability with CloudWatch while coordinating with security and application teams.

Qualifications

• BA/BS and 7+ years in IT, including 3+ years in DevOps or cloud engineering on AWS.
• Hands-on Terraform experience to create, modify, and automate AWS infrastructure.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or AWS CodeBuild.
• Familiar with Windows Server, IIS, .NET apps, and TLS certs.
• Ability to troubleshoot across IIS, .NET, networking, and AWS services.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and maintain AWS infrastructure and services in Terraform across environments.
• Deliver infrastructure changes through GitHub Actions and AWS CodeBuild with PR reviews.
• Build and maintain Windows Server/IIS hosting for .NET apps on AWS (EC2, ELB, Route 53).
• Move on-prem Windows workloads to AWS and containerize where appropriate on ECS.
• Automate routine ops (cert renewals, credential rotation, patching) with Terraform and SSM.
• Troubleshoot across IIS, .NET, networking, and AWS; fix root causes in code.
• Build and tune CloudWatch metrics, logs, alarms, dashboards, and Windows agent config.
