Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, Inc. seeks a Sr.

DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure with emphasis on GitLab CI/CD and AWS services. You will work with development and operations teams to streamline workflows, improve reliability, and scale systems across multiple US sites. The role requires expertise in automation scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS/EKS), and secure DevSecOps practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on GitLab CI/CD.
• Extensive experience working within AWS and with its managed products.
• Proficiency in writing deployment scripts and YAML files for automation.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes or AWS ECS/EKS.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or a similar language.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools like Git.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, DNS, firewalls, and security best practices.
• Ability to design new solution architectures and Infrastructure components (IaaS or PaaS).
• Travel: Periodic travel (<20%) to Airbus facilities; occasional international travel.
• US Citizenship required; ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
• Engineer AWS infrastructure across EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, RDS, ECS/EKS.
• Develop automation scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Ensure DevSecOps with security frameworks (CMMC/NIST 800-171).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in on-call rotations.
• Manage Docker containers and runners within pipelines.
