Job summary

Captivation Software is seeking a highly motivated and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced development team. The ideal candidate will have strong Linux systems administration skills and a background in big data solutions, automation, scripting, containers, and AWS.

Work is performed in a hybrid environment with travel to customer sites in Hawaii; the role also requires occasional visits to Columbia, MD.

Qualifications

• 9+ years in DevOps or Software Development; or 7+ with a Master's.
• Strong knowledge of Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible or Puppet.
• Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda).
• Experience with application and OS deployment, scaling, and management.
• Ability to develop in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Git and other development tools familiarity.
• Understanding of AGILE methodologies.
• Hybrid work in MD and travel to Hawaii up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS.
• Support development and deployment of non-cloud (Edge) infrastructure.
• Automate deployment processes for reliability and scalability.
• Manage Kubernetes containers and cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into the infrastructure.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems and resolve issues.
• Continuously improve processes for high availability and performance.
• Stay current with new technologies and industry trends.
• Other duties as assigned.
