Job summary

Better Home & Finance Holding Company is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to scale a large multi-service monorepo and AI-powered platform. You will manage AWS infrastructure, ECS/EKS workloads, and CI/CD tooling, while balancing reliability, performance, and cost in a growing SaaS business.

You will work across teams to implement observability, cost controls, and secure access, including IAM/SSO, with a focus on AI-first infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE.
• Deep knowledge of AWS and Terraform.
• Operated ECS and EKS in production.
• Deployed services with Helm and CD tooling such as Spinnaker or ArgoCD.
• Fluent in OpenTelemetry collectors and pipelines.
• Working knowledge of IAM, SSO, and access auditing.
• Strong scripting skills for automation and troubleshooting.
• Quick to ramp on unfamiliar services and to drive their technical implementation.
• Built and run internal tools or services that integrate AI models in production.
• Exposure to compliance and audit controls.

Responsibilities

• Make AI a standard part of daily engineering, including coding, operations, incident triage, and documentation.
• Build and manage the company's shared AI infrastructure, including model access and governance, LLM observability and evals, and AI features that improve platform reliability, security, and triage.
• Provision Terraform-managed AWS infrastructure for a large multi-service monorepo.
• Operate production workloads on both Amazon ECS and Amazon EKS.
• Govern the package supply chain: artifact registries, dependency distribution, provenance, and registry migrations.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment tooling.
• Drive cloud cost efficiency through cost attribution, commitment decisions, and rightsizing.
• Administer identity and access controls, including SSO, IAM policies, and access audits.
• Build and maintain observability, including OpenTelemetry pipelines, dashboards, and monitors, and participate in the on-call rotation, triaging alerts and leading incident response.
