Job summary

QTS Realty Trust in Ashburn, VA seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to own deployment and maintenance of the Services Delivery Platform and OS applications. You will optimize microservices pipelines, manage AWS ECS/EKS, and implement Terraform-based IaC while maintaining robust monitoring with CloudWatch and New Relic.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in DevOps, strong Linux, Docker, Kubernetes skills, and proven ability to troubleshoot across DEV/UAT/PROD environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of DevOps experience focused on microservices deployment and maintenance.
• Extensive AWS experience.
• Experience with Linux, Docker, Swarm, Kubernetes, Ansible.
• Terraform and GitHub Actions experience.
• Experience with Postgres, Cassandra, scripting languages (bash, Groovy, Python), nginx, Tomcat, AWS CodeArtifact, LDAP, Kafka.
• Excellent technical, diagnostic, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
• US Citizenship required due to federal contracts.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for configuration, deployment and maintenance of the Services Delivery Platform and QTS Operating System applications. This position requires excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned.

• Manage AWS ECS and EKS
• Create infrastructure/pipelines for new services (SpringBoot, Python, Angular)
• Deploy services on DEV/UAT/PROD environments
• Create and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IAC) with Terraform
• Manage the installation and configuration of solutions
• Troubleshoot failure cases on Development/UAT and Production environments

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent professional experience
• Five or more years of DevOps related experience, with a focus on Microservices deployment and maintenance
• Extensive AWS experience
• Prior experience working with Linux, Docker, Swarm, Kubernetes, Ansible
• Experience with configuration and support of Terraform and GitHub Actions
• Experience with the following technologies: Postgres, Cassandra, Scripts (bash, Groovy, Python), nginx, Tomcat, AWS CodeArtifact, LDAP, Kafka
• Excellent technical, diagnostic, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
• Knowledge of portal software, design, and development
• US Citizenship for this position is required by law due to federal customer contracts

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• AWS Solutions Architect Professional Certification
• AWS DevOps Engineer Professional Certification
