Ad Hoc is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support the modernization of enterprise-scale systems and infrastructure supporting NASA programs.
This role is ideal for engineers who thrive at the intersection of software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps. While the position includes hands‑on Java development, the primary focus will be on infrastructure automation, deployment modernization, cloud engineering, and improving software delivery practices.
During the initial phase of the program, this individual will focus heavily on DevOps initiatives, helping mature deployment pipelines, automation capabilities, cloud infrastructure, and operational processes. As modernization efforts evolve, responsibilities will become more balanced between DevOps engineering and Java application development.
We have a strong preference for candidates located near Greenbelt, Maryland, or candidates willing to travel onsite periodically for badging and program‑related activities.
This role will require the ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance.

In support of various state and city equal pay transparency laws, Ad Hoc job descriptions feature the starting range we reasonably expect to pay candidates who would join our team with little to no additional training on the responsibilities outlined above. Actual compensation is influenced by factors including skill set, level of experience, and scope of responsibility.
The anticipated salary range for this role is $130,000 – $145,000 annually.
