About the role

Cloudera is seeking a talented, motivated, and passionate Senior DevOps Engineer to join our IT Technical Operations team. This individual will be responsible for the technical ownership, design, planning, implementation, and performance tuning of mission-critical enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

1. Manage Linux compute environments and infrastructure daily.
2. Innovate and automate operations in public cloud and on-prem data centers.
3. Develop implementation plans, scripts, and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability.
4. Participate in on-call rotations to ensure high uptime for critical applications.
5. Create and maintain documentation for operational audits, security, and compliance.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (SRE, Security, Engineering) on solutions.
7. Troubleshoot issues, lead problem-solving efforts involving vendors and support teams.
8. Maintain data/system security and pursue continuous security improvements.
9. Ensure high availability and performance of critical services.
10. Develop backup and restoration procedures for systems and applications.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
2. Extensive experience with RHEL-based Linux, Git, Puppet, pip, etc.
3. Moderate to advanced experience with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL.
4. Strong scripting and debugging skills in Python and Bash.
5. Operational experience with Django, HTML, CSS.
6. Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
7. Experience with HAProxy and Nginx load balancing.
8. Operational experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, ELB/ALBs, Route53 API).

Preferred Skills

1. Knowledge of cryptography, SSL, PKI.
2. Intermediate to advanced TCP/IP networking knowledge.
3. Red Hat and/or Amazon certifications.
4. Experience with Docker containers.
5. Experience administering OpenStack private clouds.
