Job summary

Clarivate Plc in the United States is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the PISA DevOps team in Alexandria, VA, working on Derwent Patent Search and Derwent Patent Analytics platforms. You will drive CI/CD, cloud, and infrastructure automation across global product teams.

The role requires 5+ years in DevOps, strong AWS/Kubernetes experience, and a focus on security, observability, and AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS/IT/software engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years managing systems in large-scale production environments.
• 5+ years developing/maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Jenkins).
• 5+ years supporting Cloud computing services (prefer AWS).
• 5+ years deploying and scaling containerized apps with Kubernetes.
• 5+ years Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
• 5+ years software development/scripting (Python/Bash).
• 5+ years GitHub Copilot or AI/LLM workflow experience.
• Must be US Citizen or Green Card holder with Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Product Roadmap - Solutioning new deployments and enhancements while maintaining existing systems.
• Pipeline Engineering - Overseeing CI/CD tools and infrastructure.
• Developer Support - Interacting with development teams and delivering DevOps tasks.
• Observability & Monitoring - Implement logging, metrics, and alerting with Datadog, CloudWatch, etc.
• Security & Compliance - Reduce vulnerabilities and support ISO-27001, SOC2 Type I & II.
• AIIntegration - Design and optimize AI agent services and workflows.
• Infrastructure as Code - Manage services with Terraform and GitHub source control.
• DevOps Practices - Maintain documentation and cross-team knowledge sharing.

What will you be doing in this role?

• ProductRoadmap -Solutioningnewdeploymentsandproductenhancementswhilemaintainingexistingsystemstoincludefunctionality,performanceandsecurity.

• Pipeline Engineering -Orchestrating and overseeing the implementation and maintenance of tools and infrastructure critical to the CI/CD pipeline.

• Developer Support -Interact with the software development organization, gathering build requirements, providing status updates,and deliveringDevOpsassignedtasks.

• Observability & Monitoring -Monitor/measure the efficacy of the automation infrastructureandimplementlogging, metrics and alerting systems usingtoolslike Datadog, AWS CloudWatch,GitHub metrics,etc.

• Security & Compliance –Reduce security vulnerabilities acrossassignedsystems and supportrequired compliance certifications,ISO-27001, SOC2 Type I & II.
