Gabb is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to build, scale, and operate our infrastructure in Lehi, Utah. You will contribute to reliability, CI/CD, observability, incident response, and cost management while collaborating with the Lead DevOps Engineer and the Director of Platform and Infrastructure.

You'll design scalable systems on AWS, manage Kubernetes workloads, implement IaC with Terraform/Helm, and champion DevOps practices across multiple regions with strong SLAs.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering.
• Experience building scalable, highly available systems in production.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, and IaC practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate scalable infrastructure on AWS.
• Own CI/CD systems and GitOps workflows.
• Develop observability, monitoring, logging, tracing, and incident response processes.
• Contribute to roadmaps and operational maturity through documentation and runbooks.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Gabb is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to help build, scale, and operate our infrastructure. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who thrives on solving hard infrastructure problems and wants to make a direct, technical impact without people-management responsibilities.

You will contribute to infrastructure reliability, CI/CD, observability, incident response, and cost management, working closely with the Lead DevOps Engineer and the broader engineering team while reporting to the Director of Platform and Infrastructure. This role is deeply hands-on and includes participating in on-call and actively debugging production issues.

You’ll partner closely with engineering and product teams to support business needs, focusing on execution, reliability, and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

INFRASTRUCTURE & RELIABILITY

• Support infrastructure reliability and uptime across all environments - development, staging, and production
• Design and implement scalable, resilient systems on AWS that support continued customer and device growth
• Help manage multi-regional or highly available infrastructure with clear SLAs, failover patterns, and capacity planning

• Identify and remediate security risks in infrastructure and deployment pipelines in partnership with engineering and security teams

CI/CD & DEVELOPER PLATFORM

• Build and maintain CI/CD systems and GitOps workflows that enable product teams to deploy with speed and confidence
• Improve developer tooling, deployment pipelines, and environment management to reduce operational burden on product engineering teams
• Manage Kubernetes and containerized workloads; apply infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform, Helm, and related tooling

OBSERVABILITY & INCIDENT RESPONSE

• Build and enhance observability practices - monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting - that provide clear visibility into system health, performance, and risk
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response, including root cause analysis and post-incident improvement processes
• Contribute to reporting and dashboards on infrastructure health, performance trends, and cost

SYSTEMS, PROCESSES & OPERATIONAL MATURITY

• Contribute to the infrastructure and platform roadmap aligned with company growth and product needs
• Build and maintain operational processes, runbooks, and documentation that increase reliability, consistency, and knowledge transfer across the team
• Support infrastructure cost management - build visibility into cloud spend, identify waste, and align resource usage with business goals
• Support new product initiatives with scalable platform solutions, ensuring DevOps considerations are embedded early in architecture decisions

COLLABORATION & MENTORSHIP

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers on infrastructure and DevOps best practices
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and the Lead DevOps Engineer to translate business needs into technical initiatives and priorities

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• 4+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering
• Demonstrated track record of building or significantly maturing DevOps practices - not just operating within an established one
• Experience operating and scaling systems to millions of users or connected devices

• Strong experience with AWS and cloud-based infrastructure at production scale
• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized workloads in production environments
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code (Terraform, Helm) and CI/CD pipeline design (GitOps workflows preferred)
• Strong command of observability practices: metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting systems
• Experience supporting multi-regional or highly available production systems with defined SLAs
• Experience with infrastructure cost optimization - not just monitoring spend, but actively managing it
