Job summary

Intrepid Control Systems in Troy, MI is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to automate deployment, scale services, and secure infrastructure, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ship new applications and debug production issues. The ideal candidate will have Node.js and Java experience, strong Linux skills, Docker and Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD, and hands‑on with AWS and GCP.

The role is hybrid, based at our HQ in Troy with a 3‑day on‑site requirement; visa sponsorship and relocation costs

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in cloud software engineering and/or operations.
• Experience with scripting and automation in Bash, Python, Perl, or similar languages.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Git version control platforms such as GitLab, GitHub, or similar.
• Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing performance and reliability problems in production systems.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
• Experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience working with Linux systems.
• Experience with GCP or AWS.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
• Experience with application performance monitoring (APM); Nagios and Grafana preferred.
• Familiar with current industry best practices for security, including SDLC processes and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Automate deployment, scaling, and management of infrastructure components.
• Investigate and resolve incidents, working closely with cross-functional teams to address root causes.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and security of infrastructure components.
• Manage and optimize cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and physical/virtual server stacks.
• Collaborate on incident response plans and supporting documentation.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.
