Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. in Chantilly, VA seeks a Software Engineer Principal to lead infrastructure and DevOps, driving cloud migrations, automation, and secure architectures in an Agile Kanban setting.

You will mentor DevOps engineers, collaborate with developers for integrated solutions, and oversee scalable platforms while navigating security accreditation requirements.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of current experience leading the development and implementation of complex infrastructure and DevOps solutions using Agile methodologies.
• Experience leading Agile teams using Kanban methodologies to deliver infrastructure solutions.
• Experience navigating security processes and accreditation requirements with customers in complex environments.
• Expertise in infrastructure as code technologies and frameworks.
• Experience hardening AWS environments to meet security and compliance requirements.
• Experience collaborating with development teams to implement integrated solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes container orchestration (EKS preferred).
• Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, Bash) and Linux administration.
• Experience deploying and managing CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, ArgoCD).
• Experience deploying COTS and GOTS applications at scale for large enterprises.

Responsibilities

• Lead an Agile team using Kanban to deliver infrastructure and DevOps solutions.
• Serve as hands-on technical leader in cloud infrastructure, automation, and deployment strategies.
• Guide technical direction using infrastructure as code principles and best practices.
• Navigate security processes and accreditation requirements with the customer.
• Harden AWS environments and architectures to meet security and operational requirements.
• Mentor a team of DevOps engineers and foster collaboration.
• Collaborate with development teams to map requirements to deployment tasks.
• Lead cloud migration efforts from on-premises to AWS.
• Manage container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, EKS).
• Deploy and manage CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous delivery.
