Job summary

Smartcat is hiring a senior DevOps/SRE leader to steer our global engineering infrastructure. You will own CI/CD, IaC, and cloud reliability across regions, ensuring scalable, secure, and available systems for our AI-powered platform.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive best practices, and mentor engineers to accelerate delivery while maintaining top-tier uptime and disaster recovery capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps/SRE leadership in a multinational IT environment.
• Strong track record delivering scalable CI/CD pipelines and IaC
• Proven ability to drive reliability, performance, and security in cloud setups.
• Experience coordinating teams across time zones and regions.

Responsibilities

• Lead DevOps and SRE teams across regions and time zones.
• Enforce rigorous CI/CD testing and reviews to minimize release errors.

Mission

We are looking for a true leader who will manage DevOps and Infrastructure teams to improve, and maintain the technical infrastructure required to support the development, deployment, and operation of Smartcat.
This includes ensuring the availability, scalability, and reliability of staging and production environments, and defining and enforcing best SRE and DevOps practices.

Outcomes

• Zero Incorrect Release-Related Production Issues:

  • Enforce rigorous CI/CD testing and reviews to eliminate release errors.

• CI/CD and Staging Servers Availability at 99.9%:

  • Maintain robust staging infrastructure with minimal downtime, ensuring a 99.9% uptime.

• Product Availability at 99.99%:

  • Implement resilient systems and procedures for near-perfect product uptime, with effective disaster recovery plans.

• Decrease Lead time by accelerating CI/CD pipelines and environments

• Build and manage a team of A+ players within the engineering organisation across different regions and time zones. You are expected to strengthen the hiring process, provide expert technical guidance, effective coaching, and career development for your team members

Requirements

• 3 years of experience leading a team in a fast-growing multinational IT business;
• 5 years of experience in DevOps and SRE, maintaining high-RPS (Requests Per Second) distributed products;
• Utilize a data-driven approach. Ability to justify decisions using concrete metrics;
• Can build relationships with neighboring teams, initiate and adhere to agreements, and act as an interface between your team and the environment;
• Strong hands-on experience with DevOps practices (in a leading role), specifically in building complex CI/CD pipelines, implementing IaC (Infrastructure as Code), and realizing various deployment strategies;
• Experience in implementing secure development environments;
• Possess practical experience in developing and maintaining large scalable applications in the cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP);
