Job summary

Alarm.com is seeking an accomplished mechanical engineer to own product development from concept to manufacturing for consumer electronics. You will lead large multi-part CAD assemblies, drive ID integration, and coordinate with teams across Asia and the US to ensure robust, manufacturable designs.

Responsibilities include creating prototypes, performing simulations, and delivering manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and RFQ packages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience in consumer electronics.
• Proficient 3D CAD with large-assembly management (Creo preferred).
• Experience with molding, CNC, sheet metal, stamping processes.
• Generous experience with tolerance analysis, GD&T, DFM/DFX.

Responsibilities

• Own product development end-to-end for consumer electronics.
• Lead large-assembly design and manage multi-part CAD assemblies.
• Build mockups and prototypes to validate concepts.
• Manage simulations and analysis to justify design choices.
• Drive ID integration balancing optics, acoustics, RF, usability.
• Design for manufacturing across molding, machining, stamping.
• Prepare detailed drawings, BOMs, and RFQ packages.
• Engage vendors and cross-site teams across Asia and US.
• Coordinate with TPMs, EEs, FW, Acoustics; ensure validation.
