Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Sr Device / Camera Test Automation Engineer to execute within the XR/AR space for a high level enterprise portfolio in San Jose, CA. You will design and implement automated tests for charging-case functionality, secure-boot scenarios, and camera software validation on consumer electronics hardware.

The role requires strong Python automation skills, CI-integrated testing, and hands-on experience with device fleets and test rigs.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in test automation, QA engineering, or embedded/device test.
• Strong Python automation skills; experience with CI-integrated test frameworks.
• Hands-on testing of physical consumer hardware or device-attached software.
• Experience diagnosing and fixing flaky tests.
• Comfort working onsite with device fleets and test rigs.
• Camera, imaging, or multimedia software test experience.
• Secure boot / bootloader / device-security testing.
• Consumer electronics, wearables, or XR/AR device experience.

Responsibilities

• Build automated tests for charging-case functionality from the client-provided specification.

• Build automated tests for charging-case functionality from the client-provided specification.
• Design and automate secure-boot test cases for glasses and glasses cases (secure and unsecure units).
• Build automated tests covering glasses camera software functionality.
• Integrate device and camera automation into client's existing automated testing framework.
• Stabilize suites that become unreliable after repeated runs; root-cause non-deterministic failures.

This role can pay between $70-85 depending on skillset and years of experience.
