The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University seek a Senior Development Officer to advance major and leadership gifts. This full-time role manages a portfolio of about 150 prospects, leads cultivation and solicitation efforts, and coordinates regional advancement activities to strengthen donor engagement and philanthropy.

The position emphasizes travel, evenings, and weekends as needed, with collaboration across Institutional Advancement and volunteer groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, with experience in education or nonprofit fundraising.
• Senior leadership experience in educational, not-for-profit, or related organizations.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of approximately 150 major and leadership gift prospects.
• Develop strategies for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gifts.
• Schedule personal visits and regular discovery visits with prospects (minimum 20 per month).
• Collaborate with other senior development officers to coordinate effort across donor relationships.
• Prepare follow-up materials including letters of thanks and regular donor visit reports.
• Oversee regional advancement activities in several out-of-state areas and donor cultivation strategies.
• Engage and train campaign volunteers, and manage regional Gift Team volunteers.
