Job summary

UVA External Relations seeks an Associate Director of Development for UVA Health Children's to manage a growing major gifts portfolio, partnering with physicians, researchers, and leaders to fund priorities in patient care, research, and education.

You will move prospects through the development continuum, steward donors, and align donor interests with clinical and academic priorities, while training staff and maintaining strong donor relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3 years of fundraising experience with gifts of $50,000+.
• Ability to build genuine, philanthropically focused relationships and move a pipeline.
• Ability to use a database to maintain donor data and reports.

Responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects and donors for UVA Health Children's.
• Create and implement a donor strategy to move prospects along the development continuum.
• Manage a pipeline of proposals aligning donor interests with priorities in clinical care, research, and education.
• Partner with the Director of Development to design and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
• Review patient data considerations to identify major gift prospects and ensure proper philanthropy processes.
• Maintain a presence within departments to build partnerships and promote philanthropy.
• Train faculty and staff on philanthropic principles and tactics.
• Collaborate with UVA Health Development Office to align and advance UVA Health.
